Royalists respond to Omid Scobie's "Endgame"
Tuesday 28th November 2023 ¦ Chairman of The Royalists
The soon-to-be-released book, “Endgame”, by Omid Scobie is nothing more than poisonous celebrity gossip designed to sow division within the Royal Family. The Royalists issue a robust objection to the many harmful and unfounded allegations which deface its pages, in particular the baseless accusation of racism targeted towards His Majesty The King in copies released in the Netherlands.
It is exceptionally concerning to hear reports that Mr Scobie was able to access close confidants of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Although Their Royal Highnesses’ press team insist the couple had no collusion with the book’s author, it is now sadly increasingly difficult to take their dismissal at face value when court documents from 2021 prove that the book’s antecedent - “Finding Freedom” - was written with their collaboration.
In light of the book being withdrawn from shelves in Europe - arguably a testament to the serious nature of the allegations therein - we feel the need to emphasise to publishers the necessity of thorough editorial scrutiny to ensure that such distressing and unsubstantiated claims do not find their way into the public domain in the future.
We urge the public to repudiate this spiteful sensationalist propaganda directed towards the Royal Family and stand in solidarity with the victims.
