Saturday 9 March 2024 ¦ Chairman of The Royalists
The Royalists’ petition to honour the life and legacy of our late Queen with a statue on Trafalgar Square’s fourth plinth has now reached 50,000 signatures. In a statement, the Chairman of The Royalists said:
“The Royalists’ campaign to honour our late Queen with a statue on the fourth plinth of Trafalgar Square has reached a new crescendo with some 50,000 petition signatures within the space of three weeks. This is a remarkable achievement, a testament to the huge numbers of people in our country who wish to see our dearly departed Queen honoured and immortalised with a lasting symbol in the heart of London.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to those of you who have signified your support through signatures, and also to the 400 people who boosted the petition with £3,000 worth of donations. We will now harness this newfound momentum and begin utilising our parliamentary colleagues to give representations to the Mayor of London. We sincerely hope that as many of you as possible will continue to sign, share and boost this petition far and wide for a permanent statue in memory of a much-loved sovereign.”
